Rebecca
Let me tell you, I was absolutely thrilled when I finally cracked the code to recreate Buffalo Wild Wings' Asian Zing chicken wings at home. After a few attempts, I nailed the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors that make this dish so irresistible.
Prep Time 15 minutes mins
Cook Time 25 minutes mins
- 6 chicken winglets
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon rice wine
- 1½ tablespoons Sriracha sauce
- 2 cloves garlic crushed
- ½ teaspoon julienned ginger
- ½ teaspoon crushed dried red chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon sesame seed oil
- Salt to taste
- Crushed pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon chopped cilantro leaves optional
- 1 teaspoon chopped scallions optional
Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the chicken winglets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake them for about 25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, rice wine, Sriracha sauce, crushed garlic, julienned ginger, and red chili flakes. Whisk them together until well blended.
Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the prepared sauce over the wings. Using tongs, toss the wings until they are evenly coated with the sauce.
Transfer the sauced wings to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped cilantro and scallions if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy the burst of flavors.
-
Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh garlic and ginger will enhance the flavor of the sauce.
-
Adjust the Heat: Modify the amount of Sriracha and red chili flakes to control the spice level.
-
Toss Immediately: For the best flavor, toss the wings in the sauce while they are still hot.
-
Don't Overcrowd the Baking Sheet: Ensure the wings are spaced out to allow even cooking and crispiness
