Buffalo Wild Wings Mild Sauce Recipe

Rebecca
Making your own Buffalo Wild Wings Mild Sauce at home is a game-changer! After trying several recipes, I finally found the perfect blend that captures that signature tangy, buttery flavor without overwhelming heat.

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 1/8 teaspoon ancho chili powder

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter completely. Be careful not to let it brown or burn.
  • Once the butter is melted, pour in the Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. Stir continuously to combine the two ingredients smoothly.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and ancho chili powder to the mixture. Whisk thoroughly to ensure all components are well integrated.
  • Allow the sauce to simmer gently over low heat for about 5 minutes. This helps the flavors meld together beautifully.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and let the sauce cool slightly. It’s now ready to be tossed with your favorite wings or stored for later use.

Notes

  • Use Unsalted Butter: This allows you to control the saltiness of the sauce more effectively.
  • Low Heat is Key: Always cook the sauce over low heat to prevent separation or burning.
  • Adjust Thickness: If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer a bit longer to reduce and concentrate the flavors.
  • Storage: Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Reheating: Gently reheat the sauce over low heat or in the microwave, stirring occasionally to maintain consistency.
