Cheeseburger Quesadillas Recipe
Rebecca
Have you ever had one of those moments when you couldn’t decide between a juicy cheeseburger and a cheesy quesadilla? That’s exactly where I found myself last weekend! Inspired by that indecision, I decided to bring both worlds together, and boy, am I glad I did.
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 15 minutes mins
Total Time 25 minutes mins
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
- 6 large flour tortillas 8-inch size
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 medium tomato diced
- ¼ cup chopped pickles
- ¼ cup ketchup for dipping
- 2 tablespoons mustard for dipping
Begin by heating a skillet over medium heat. Add in the ground beef and cook until it’s browned and fully cooked. Toss in the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until they’re soft and fragrant. Next, season the mixture with salt, pepper, paprika, and cumin. Stir everything together and set aside to cool slightly.
Lay out a tortilla on a clean surface. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese across the tortilla. Add a layer of the beef mixture, followed by diced tomatoes and chopped pickles. Top it with another tortilla to complete the sandwich.
Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Carefully place the assembled quesadilla in the pan. Cook for about 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Once done, transfer it to a cutting board and allow it to cool slightly before slicing into wedges.
Serve your warm, crispy quesadilla slices with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauces. Enjoy every bite!
- Don’t Overload: Keep the filling balanced, so the quesadilla doesn’t get too heavy or hard to flip.
- Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh veggies like tomatoes and pickles make a big difference in flavor.
- Opt for High Heat: Cooking the quesadilla on medium-high heat ensures a crispy exterior without burning.
- Prep Ahead: You can cook the beef mixture in advance and assemble the quesadillas when ready to eat.
