Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies Recipe

Rebecca
The first time I made these chewy peanut butter brownies, I was instantly hooked. The perfect mix of rich peanut butter and a chewy, fudgy brownie texture hit all the right notes. I remember pulling them out of the oven, their fragrance filling my kitchen, and thinking, “Why didn’t I make these sooner?”

Ingredients

  • Peanut butter
  • Margarine softened
  • White sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan. This ensures your brownies won’t stick and come out perfectly intact.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter and softened margarine until smooth. Gradually mix in the white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat the mixture until it’s light and fluffy. 🥄✨
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Slowly add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until well blended. The batter should be thick and fragrant at this stage.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top lightly springs back when you touch it. The edges will be golden and the kitchen filled with a heavenly aroma. 😍🍪
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before cutting them into squares. Serve warm for gooey deliciousness or at room temperature for a firmer bite.

Notes

  • Room Temperature Ingredients: For the best texture, make sure your peanut butter, margarine, and eggs are at room temperature before mixing.
  • Don’t Overmix: Overmixing the batter can lead to dense, tough brownies. Stir just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Test for Doneness: Insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out with a few moist crumbs, your brownies are ready. Avoid waiting until it’s completely clean; they’ll continue to set as they cool.
  • Enhance Peanut Butter Flavor: If you want an extra peanut buttery kick, add an extra tablespoon of peanut butter to the batter.
  • Grease the Pan Well: For perfectly cut brownies, don’t forget to grease your pan or line it with parchment paper.
