Cinnamon Roll Dippers

Rebecca
When I first tried making cinnamon roll dippers, I was amazed at how fun and easy they were to whip up! These little treats took the classic cinnamon roll and turned it into the ultimate shareable snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • If you’re making fresh dough, mix the flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Add your milk and some melted butter, and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic. Store-bought dough? Just leave it at room temperature for 10 minutes before rolling it out.
  • Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Melt the butter separately and have it ready for brushing. This mixture will create that signature cinnamon roll flavor.
  • Roll the dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface. Brush the melted butter evenly over the surface before sprinkling the entire cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Starting on one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Use a sharp knife to slice the log into 1-inch-thick pieces. Arrange the rolls cut side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. Bake the cinnamon roll dippers for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. They’ll smell so good you’ll want to eat them right away, but try to wait for them to cool slightly.
  • While the dippers cool, whisk together softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. You can also add a splash of milk to adjust the consistency. Feel free to prepare other dips, like a decadent caramel or chocolate sauce! For more dessert ideas, explore these delightful desserts that can build out your next sweet treat spread.

Notes

  • Give store-bought dough enough time to warm up to room temp; it’ll roll more easily.
  • Be careful not to add too much filling, or it may spill out while baking.
  • Use a very sharp knife or even dental floss to slice the dough cleanly into even pieces.
  • Experiment with different glazes for variety—I love a drizzle of salted caramel on mine.
