If there’s one thing I love, it’s recreating my favorite restaurant meals at home, and this Copycat Texas Roadhouse Steak recipe is an absolute winner. 😍 The first time I tried it, I was blown away by how the seasoning mix elevated a simple steak into a juicy, flavorful masterpiece.

Ingredients

  • Sirloin Steak
  • Brown Sugar
  • Kosher Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Paprika
  • Chili Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Salt
  • Turmeric
  • Cornstarch

Instructions

  • Start by mixing the seasoning ingredients in a large bowl. Stir everything together until evenly combined. This rub is where the magic happens, giving your steak its bold, signature flavor.
  • Generously rub the seasoning mix onto both sides of your steaks. Make sure every inch is covered for maximum flavor. Then, leave the steak to rest for 30 minutes at room temperature. This allows the spices to penetrate the meat and tenderize it.
  • Heat your grill to 400°F and prepare the grates by oiling them or using cooking spray. Having a hot grill ensures those irresistible sear marks while locking in juices.
  • Place the seasoned steaks on the grill and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on your preferred doneness. Flip them over using tongs, and cook the other side for another 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Remove the steaks from the grill and allow them to rest for at least 5 minutes. This resting stage keeps the juices locked in, resulting in a moist and flavorful bite every time.

Notes

  • Keep it Room Temperature: Steaks cook more evenly when they’re not straight from the fridge.
  • Don’t Skimp on the Rub: Every teaspoon works in harmony to create that signature flavor!
  • Invest in a Thermometer: Use an instant-read thermometer to avoid guesswork. Aim for 130°F (medium-rare) to 160°F (well-done) depending on your liking.
  • Resting is Key: Resist the urge to cut the steak immediately; resting keeps it juicy and tender.
