Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces penne pasta uncooked
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups spinach chopped
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  • In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it apart until browned. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Whisk over medium-high heat until the sauce begins to thicken.
  • Stir in the spinach and sun-dried tomatoes, allowing them to simmer until the spinach wilts.
  • Return the cooked sausage to the skillet, add the pasta, and stir until everything is heated through. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Parmesan: Pre-shredded cheese won’t melt as smoothly as freshly grated.
  • Cook Pasta Al Dente: Prevents it from becoming mushy when mixed with the sauce.
  • Drain Spinach Well: If using frozen spinach, squeeze out excess liquid before adding.
  • Broth Substitute: Use vegetable broth or water with a pinch of bouillon if needed.
