- 8 ounces penne pasta uncooked
- 1 pound ground sausage
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups spinach chopped
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions.
In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it apart until browned. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Whisk over medium-high heat until the sauce begins to thicken.
Stir in the spinach and sun-dried tomatoes, allowing them to simmer until the spinach wilts.
Return the cooked sausage to the skillet, add the pasta, and stir until everything is heated through. Serve immediately.
-
Use Fresh Parmesan: Pre-shredded cheese won’t melt as smoothly as freshly grated.
-
Cook Pasta Al Dente: Prevents it from becoming mushy when mixed with the sauce.
-
Drain Spinach Well: If using frozen spinach, squeeze out excess liquid before adding.
-
Broth Substitute: Use vegetable broth or water with a pinch of bouillon if needed.
