Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets 4
  • Soy sauce
  • Brown sugar
  • Honey
  • Garlic minced
  • Ginger grated
  • Sesame oil
  • Ichimi Togarashi or crushed red pepper flakes
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • Start by preparing the all-important marinade! Grab a bowl and combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. For that signature “firecracker” kick, add a dash of Ichimi Togarashi or red pepper flakes. 🎆
  • Drop the salmon fillets in, ensuring they’re fully coated with the sauce. Cover the bowl and let them marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes. This is where all the magic flavor happens!
  • After marinating, preheat your oven to 400°F or fire up your grill for medium-high heat. Place the salmon on a baking dish or grill, skin-side down. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, basting with the leftover marinade after flipping. The marinade caramelizes beautifully, so you’ll end up with golden, slightly crisp edges. 🍯🔥 The aroma will have everyone asking, “Is it ready yet?”
  • Remove from heat and plate your salmon. Sprinkle sliced green onions over the top for a fresh burst of color and taste. You could even add a dash of sesame seeds for extra flare. Serve hot and watch it disappear! 🍽️

Notes

  • Serve the salmon over jasmine rice for a classic match. The rice soaks up the extra marinade like magic.
  • Add a healthy twist with a serving of steamed broccoli or asparagus.
  • For texture contrast, try with a quinoa salad or crispy roasted potatoes.
  • Want something refreshing? A side of Asian cucumber salad is divine.
