I have to say, these German Chocolate Brownies are everything I hoped they would be and more. When I whipped up my first batch, the utterly decadent combination of rich chocolate brownies and creamy coconut pecan frosting was too good to resist. Each bite was packed with gooey caramel goodness, crunchy pecans, and a hint of coconut that left me swooning.

- Unsweetened cocoa powder
- Oil vegetable or canola
- Butter
- Granulated sugar
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- All-purpose flour
- Salt
- Light brown sugar
- Granulated sugar
- Butter
- Egg yolks
- Evaporated milk
- Vanilla extract
- Chopped pecans
- Shredded sweetened coconut
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with non-stick spray. Mix oil and cocoa powder in a bowl until smooth. Add softened butter and sugar, beating until fluffy. Then mix in eggs, one at a time, and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt until fully combined to form your batter. 🍫
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool completely before adding the frosting.
While the brownies bake, prepare the frosting! Combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, egg yolks, and evaporated milk in a saucepan. Stir constantly over medium heat as the mixture comes to a low boil and thickens. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla, pecans, and coconut. Cool before spreading onto the brownies. 🥥
Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies evenly. Make sure to cover every corner for a burst of delicious flavor in each bite! Chill or serve immediately, depending on your preference.
Cut into squares or rectangles and enjoy these rich, decadent brownies with a warm cup of coffee or a scoop of ice cream. They’re a guaranteed hit!
- Room Temperature Ingredients: Make sure your butter and eggs are at room temperature to mix more easily.
- Avoid Overmixing: Stir your brownie batter just until the dry ingredients are combined. Overmixing can affect the texture.
- Chill for Easy Frosting: If the frosting is too warm, it can slide off your brownies. Allow it to cool before spreading.
