Ingredients

Chicken:

  • 2 lbs. organic chicken breasts tender and naturally flavorful
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil locks in moisture
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika adds a subtle smoky layer
  • 1 tsp sea salt enhances the seasoning
  • ½ tsp black pepper a mild kick
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for added heat

Hot Honey Sauce:

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter rich and creamy base
  • 4 garlic cloves minced (deep, savory flavor)
  • 1 cup organic raw honey sweet glaze base
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper for a bold kick
  • ½ tsp garlic powder added savoriness
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika smoky depth
  • ½ tsp chili powder warmth and balance
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • Pinch of sea salt to tie it all together

Instructions

  • Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with olive oil, smoked paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. For enhanced flavor, marinate the chicken for at least 3 hours, or leave it overnight for an even deeper infusion.
  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then sauté the minced garlic until it’s fragrant and golden. Add honey, cayenne, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Simmer the mixture gently, stirring as it begins to thicken into a luscious glaze.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F and arrange the marinated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle about half of the prepared honey glaze over the chicken before baking. Allow the chicken to cook for 30-35 minutes, flipping it halfway for even browning. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F for safely cooked chicken.
  • After baking, top the chicken with the remaining honey glaze. Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 2-3 minutes to crisp up the exterior. Keep a close watch to prevent burning and ensure a beautiful caramelized finish.
  • Plate the chicken with your favorite side dish. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for an extra pop of color and flavor.

Notes

  • Lower the Heat: Skip cayenne or red pepper flakes for a milder flavor.
  • Slim it Down: Use less butter or swap with a low-fat option.
  • Premade Shortcut: Store-bought hot honey works in a pinch.
  • Use a Thermometer: Always check chicken doneness to avoid drying it out.
  • Repurpose Leftovers: Slice into wraps, tacos, or sandwiches for a second meal.
