Ingredients

  • Fresh Mangoes 3 medium-sized
  • Sago Pearls ½ cup
  • Coconut Milk 1 cup
  • Condensed Milk 2–3 tablespoons
  • Water 4 cups
  • Evaporated Milk ½ cup
  • Vanilla Extract 1 teaspoon
  • Mint Leaves for garnish
  • Chopped Fruits like strawberries or kiwi optional

Instructions

  • Boil 4 cups of water in a pot and add the sago pearls. Stir frequently to prevent them from sticking together. Cook for 15–20 minutes until the pearls turn translucent, then drain and rinse with cold water.
  • Peel and cut fresh mangoes into small cubes, reserving some for garnish. Blend the remaining mango pieces into a smooth puree using a blender. This puree adds a rich, fruity base to the dessert.
  • In a bowl, combine coconut milk, condensed milk, and vanilla extract (if using). Stir well to blend the flavors and adjust the sweetness to your liking. This mixture forms the creamy foundation of the dessert.
  • Gently fold the cooked sago pearls into the coconut milk mixture. Stir in the mango puree, ensuring that everything is evenly mixed. This step brings together the signature flavors of Mango Sago.
  • Transfer the mixture to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least an hour. This step enhances the flavors and thickens the texture. A well-chilled Mango Sago tastes more refreshing and satisfying.
  • Scoop the chilled Mango Sago into serving glasses or bowls. Top with fresh mango chunks and other optional fruits. Garnish with mint leaves for an extra fresh touch, then enjoy your delicious dessert!

Notes

  • Refrigerator Storage: Transfer the dessert to an airtight container and store for up to 2 days.
  • Avoid Freezing: Freezing will ruin the texture of the sago and mango puree.
  • Revive Leftovers: Give it a quick stir and add extra coconut milk if it thickens too much.
