🥬 Ingredients
For the cabbage
- 1 large green cabbage
- 1 tbsp salt (for boiling water)
For the filling
- 250 g shrimp, peeled & chopped
- 250 g smoked sausage (or andouille), diced
- 1 cup cauliflower rice
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Seasoning
- 1½ tsp Cajun seasoning
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp cayenne (optional)
Sauce
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp Cajun seasoning
👨🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare cabbage
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Carefully remove 8–10 cabbage leaves.
- Boil leaves for 2–3 minutes until soft.
- Drain and set aside.
2️⃣ Make filling
- In a skillet, cook sausage for 3–4 minutes until browned.
- Add garlic and cauliflower rice and cook 2 minutes.
- Stir in shrimp and cook just until pink.
- Remove from heat.
3️⃣ Mix stuffing
In a bowl combine:
- sausage & shrimp mixture
- cream cheese
- mozzarella
- egg
- Cajun seasoning, paprika, pepper
Mix until well combined.
4️⃣ Stuff cabbage
- Place 2–3 tbsp filling in each cabbage leaf.
- Fold sides and roll like a burrito.
5️⃣ Bake
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes.
6️⃣ Make Cajun cream sauce
- Melt butter in a pan.
- Add heavy cream and Cajun seasoning.
- Simmer 3 minutes.
- Stir in parmesan until thick.
7️⃣ Serve
Pour the sauce over cabbage rolls and garnish with green onions.
