🌺 Hibiscus Cinnamon & Clove Tea — High-Protein Version

Ingredients

For the tea:

  • 4 cups (1 liter) water
  • ½ cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • ½ orange, sliced
  • 1–2 tsp fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1–2 tsp honey or sweetener, optional
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, optional

For the protein:

  • 1 scoop (20–25 g) unflavored or vanilla whey protein isolate
    or
  • 1 scoop collagen peptides

Instructions

  1. Boil the water:
Add 4 cups of water to a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the spices:
Add hibiscus flowers, cinnamon sticks, cloves, bay leaves, orange slices, and ginger.
  3. Simmer:
Reduce the heat and simmer gently for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Strain:
Remove from the heat and strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer.
  5. Flavor:
Stir in lemon juice and a small amount of honey or your preferred sweetener if desired.
  6. Add protein carefully:
Let the tea cool until it is warm rather than very hot. In a separate cup, mix the protein powder with a small amount of cool water until smooth. Slowly whisk it into the warm tea.
  7. Serve:
Enjoy warm, or refrigerate and serve over ice.

💪 Approximate Nutrition

Using whey isolate and dividing into 2 servings:

  • Protein: ~12–15 g per serving
  • Calories: ~60–90 before optional honey
  • Carbs: ~5–10 g
  • Fat: ~0–1 g

Important note

Hibiscus tea can be a refreshing, low-calorie beverage, but it shouldn’t be presented as a proven hormone-balancing or weight-loss treatment. If you’re specifically looking for a high-protein drink, whey isolate gives substantially more complete dietary protein than collagen.
