💜 High-Protein Blueberry & Purple Cabbage Infusion

Ingredients — 4 servings

  • 2 cups finely shredded purple cabbage
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 4 cups water
  • 1–2 tbsp honey or sugar-free sweetener
  • Juice of 1 large lemon
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 scoops unflavored or berry clear whey protein isolate
  • 1 cup cold sparkling water, optional
  • Ice, for serving
  • Lemon slices and fresh mint, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the infusion: Add purple cabbage, blueberries, ginger, and 4 cups water to a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 10–12 minutes, until the water becomes deep purple.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  4. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing the cabbage and berries gently to extract the liquid.
  5. Stir in lemon juice, vanilla, and honey or your preferred sweetener.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool completely.
  7. In a separate glass, mix the clear whey protein with about ½ cup of the cooled infusion. Stir or shake gently until completely dissolved.
  8. Combine with the remaining infusion. Avoid adding protein powder while the liquid is hot.
  9. Fill glasses with ice and pour over the protein-infused drink.
  10. Add sparkling water if desired.
  11. Garnish with lemon slices, blueberries, and fresh mint.

Tip: For the clearest, most refreshing result, use a clear whey isolate rather than regular milk-based whey. For an even higher-protein version, use 2½ scoops of clear whey and adjust the water to taste.
