Ingredients — 4 servings
- 2 cups finely shredded purple cabbage
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 4 cups water
- 1–2 tbsp honey or sugar-free sweetener
- Juice of 1 large lemon
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 scoops unflavored or berry clear whey protein isolate
- 1 cup cold sparkling water, optional
- Ice, for serving
- Lemon slices and fresh mint, for garnish
Instructions
- Make the infusion: Add purple cabbage, blueberries, ginger, and 4 cups water to a saucepan.
- Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 10–12 minutes, until the water becomes deep purple.
- Remove from heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
- Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing the cabbage and berries gently to extract the liquid.
- Stir in lemon juice, vanilla, and honey or your preferred sweetener.
- Allow the mixture to cool completely.
- In a separate glass, mix the clear whey protein with about ½ cup of the cooled infusion. Stir or shake gently until completely dissolved.
- Combine with the remaining infusion. Avoid adding protein powder while the liquid is hot.
- Fill glasses with ice and pour over the protein-infused drink.
- Add sparkling water if desired.
- Garnish with lemon slices, blueberries, and fresh mint.

Tip: For the clearest, most refreshing result, use a clear whey isolate rather than regular milk-based whey. For an even higher-protein version, use 2½ scoops of clear whey and adjust the water to taste.
