Ingredients
- 1½ lb (700 g) ground beef or ground lamb
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups green cabbage, chopped
- 1 zucchini, diced
- 2 celery stalks, sliced
- 1 can (400 g) diced tomatoes (or fresh, chopped – optional for strict keto)
- 4 cups beef broth (low-sodium)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 bay leaf
- Optional: fresh parsley or dill for garnish
Instructions (Crockpot Method)
- Brown the meat
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed. - Build flavor
Add onion and garlic to the meat. Cook 2–3 minutes until fragrant. - Load the crockpot
Transfer meat mixture to the crockpot.
Add cabbage, zucchini, celery, tomatoes, broth, spices, salt, pepper, and bay leaf. - Slow cook
- LOW: 6–7 hours
- HIGH: 3–4 hours
Until cabbage is tender and flavors are rich.
- Finish & serve
Remove bay leaf. Adjust seasoning.
Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
