🌺 High-Protein Hibiscus-Berry Detox Iced Tea

Ingredients — 2 large servings

  • 4 cups water
  • 3–4 hibiscus tea bags, or 2 tbsp dried hibiscus
  • 1 scoop clear whey isolate (about 20–25 g protein)
  • 1 tbsp collagen peptides (optional, about 5 g protein)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup mixed berries — strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries
  • ½ lemon, thinly sliced
  • ½ orange, thinly sliced
  • 1–2 tsp zero-calorie sweetener, to taste
  • 1 cup ice
  • Fresh mint, optional
  • ½ cup cold water, if needed to dilute

Instructions

  1. Brew the hibiscus tea:
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add the hibiscus tea bags or dried hibiscus, and steep for 8–10 minutes.
  2. Cool completely:
Remove the tea bags/strain the hibiscus. Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.
  3. Add the protein:
Pour about 1 cup of the cold hibiscus tea into a shaker bottle. Add the clear whey isolate and collagen peptides. Shake thoroughly until dissolved.
Don’t add protein powder to hot tea, as it can clump.
  4. Combine:
Pour the protein mixture into the remaining chilled hibiscus tea. Add apple cider vinegar and sweetener. Stir gently.
  5. Add fruit:
Add the berries, lemon slices, orange slices, and fresh mint.
  6. Chill:
Add ice and refrigerate for another 20–30 minutes so the fruit flavors infuse into the tea.
  7. Serve:
Pour over plenty of ice and garnish with berries, citrus, and mint.
