Keto Cheesy Beef Bake
A dish made with ground beef that is rich, flavorful, and full of taste, with melted cheese on top. No bother, just comfort!
Things that go into it
2 pounds of ground beef
1 small onion, chopped (optional; for less carbohydrates, use ½ tsp onion powder instead)
Two cloves of garlic, chopped up
1 cup of sugar-free marinara or 1 cup of beef broth with 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce (optional; use sugar-free if you’re on a strict keto diet)
1 teaspoon of taco seasoning or Italian seasoning, depending on what you want.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
2 cups of shredded cheese, such cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix
How to do it
1. Prepare the Beef
Set the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Over medium heat, brown the ground beef in a pan.
Add onion and garlic (if you’re using it) and saute until they are tender.
Add Worcestershire sauce, seasoning, salt, and pepper to the marinara (or broth + tomato paste).
Let the mixture simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, or until it thickens a little.
2. Make the casserole
Put the meat mixture in a baking dish that is 9×9 or 8×8 inches.
Spread shredded cheese evenly on top.
3. Cook
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbling, and beginning to brown around the edges.
4. Serve
Let it cool down for a few minutes before cutting it.
You can serve it with a side salad, roasted vegetables, or mashed cauliflower.
Advice
For a fiery Tex-Mex version, add sliced jalapeños or Rotel.
For further richness, spread 4 ounces of softened cream cheese under the cheese.
Add a cup of cooked cauliflower rice to make it thicker.
Use ground turkey, sausage, or chicken instead of beef.
