Keto Mozzarella Sticks (Crispy & Gooey!)
Things that go into it
12 mozzarella cheese sticks (string cheese)
2 large eggs
1 cup almond flour
½ cup grated parmesan
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
Optional: crushed pork rinds for extra crunch
Oil for frying (or use an air fryer)
How to do it
1. Prep the Cheese
Unwrap all mozzarella sticks.
Cut them in half if you want smaller sticks.
Place them on a plate and freeze for at least 1 hour.
(This is important so they don’t melt out of the coating!)
2. Prepare Breading Stations
Bowl 1:
Whisk eggs.
Bowl 2:
Mix together:
Almond flour
Parmesan
Italian seasoning
Garlic powder
Salt & pepper
(Optional: Add ½ cup crushed pork rinds for a KFC-style crunch.)
3. Coat the Mozzarella
One stick at a time:
Dip in egg
Roll in almond-flour mixture
Dip in egg again
Coat again in almond-flour mixture
Double coating = crispier sticks + no cheese blowouts
Place coated sticks on a plate and freeze 20–30 more minutes.
4. Cooking Options
● Deep Fry / Pan Fry
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry mozzarella sticks for 1–2 minutes, flipping once.
Remove and drain on paper towels.
● Air Fryer
Spray sticks with avocado oil.
Air fry at 380°F for 6–8 minutes, turning halfway.
● Oven
Place on a parchment-lined sheet, spray with oil.
Bake at 400°F for 10–12 minutes, until golden.

Tips
If the coating looks thin, freeze again and re-coat for a thicker crust.
Don’t overcrowd when frying—helps them crisp evenly.
